Netflix Viewers Surprised By Steamy Film That’s ‘80% Sex’ But Say It’s Totally Worth Watching

Netflix users are talking nonstop about a steamy new movie that many say is basically ‘80 percent sex’ — but somehow, they still think it’s worth checking out.

Since the sultry Brazilian drama hit the streaming platform, it has quickly climbed Netflix’s trending list and seems to be heating things up for a lot of viewers at home.

This isn’t the first time a super risqué title has exploded on Netflix either. One infamous erotic movie series got slammed so hard it earned a zero percent score on Rotten Tomatoes across all three films. Another title about the so-called ‘godfather of rough sex’ reportedly left some people downright disturbed.

That said, while some viewers admit the movie is overflowing with intimate scenes—one even described it as “soft porn perfection” on Rotten Tomatoes—many are still recommending it.

“Every second, people are without underwear, no story, nothing except sex.” shared one viewer on social media.

“If you like looking at naked or near naked bodies, of both genders, there are plenty of scenes to choose from. Inevitably all the actors have impeccable physiques and the sex scenes do show some imagination in terms of activities and positioning.” chimed in another. “It couldn’t really have got more explicit without having to be differently categorized.”

I got the impression that the sex scenes were really the driving force for the narrative.” they wrapped up.

With comments like these floating around, it’s no surprise the film, Burning Betrayal, is getting compared to popular NSFW hits like Fifty Shades of Grey and Sex/Life.

The movie is based on the spicy novel O Lado Bom de Ser Traída by author Sue Hecker, which loosely translates to The Good Side of Being Betrayed. It takes place in São Paulo and follows the life of Babi, an accountant played by Giovanna Lancellotti.

After discovering her fiancé has been cheating just before their wedding, Babi takes control of her life. She joins a motorcycle club, dyes her hair darker, and meets Marco—a mysterious man she dubs ‘the hot judge.’

What follows is a whirlwind affair packed with fiery passion. The story features sizzling scenes that play out everywhere from kitchens to beaches, and even in between high-speed motorcycle stunts.

The film came out in 2023 and already has an impressive 87 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Loads of viewers have admitted to watching it more than once.

“Burning Betrayal is 80 per cent sex and 9 per cent plot.” said one reviewer. Another added: “Just two people riding motorcycles and having sex. Did I watch it five times? You bet I did.”

Many fans have also praised the movie for how it highlights female empowerment when it comes to sex. They’ve commented on the strong chemistry between the cast and the script’s emotional depth.

“I loved it, Babi charmed me with her awakening, she got out of a bad relationship and made lemonade out of lemons.” said one viewer, adding how refreshing it was to see stories where women explore their sexuality openly and confidently.

“The sex scenes were hot without being vulgar, the quality of Brazilian films is standing out more and more. It leaves nothing to be desired compared to the American ones, I loved it, dreaming of a part 2.” they continued.

“What powerful chemistry!!!” added another excited fan. “The impeccable script, the action scenes on two wheels and the suspense that makes the viewer hold their breath… It’s so good! I already want to – and will – watch it again!”
