Lip Reader Reveals What Trump And Elon Said To Eachother At Charlie Kirk’s Funeral
It was a moment few expected to see again: President Donald Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk sitting side by side. The occasion was a somber one — the memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk — but it also marked the first time the two men publicly crossed paths since their highly publicized falling out.

Inside State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona, thousands of supporters gathered Sunday to honor Kirk, who was tragically killed on September 10 at Utah Valley University. The event drew top figures from politics and business, but the brief reunion between Trump and Musk quickly became one of the most talked-about moments.
Lip-reading expert Nicola Hickling says President Trump opened with a warm, “How are you doing?” before telling Musk, “I hear you wanted to talk.” He then leaned closer and added, “Let’s see if we can get things back on track.”

Musk nodded in agreement, and Trump tapped his hand, saying, “I’ve missed you,” the Daily Mail reported. The White House later shared video of the exchange on X, sparking a wave of reactions online.
Musk himself acknowledged the moment, posting a photo of him and the president seated together with the simple caption: “For Charlie.”
The two men share a complicated history. During the 2024 campaign, Musk poured more than $270 million into Trump’s re-election effort and campaigned hard in swing states to mobilize Republican voters. He even briefly served in Trump’s second administration, heading up the Department of Government Efficiency — or “DOGE,” a nod to Musk’s well-known humor.

But the alliance soured earlier this year over Trump’s “One Big Beautiful” spending bill, which Musk slammed as “utterly insane and destructive.” The disagreement escalated into a very public spat when Musk accused Trump of appearing in Jeffrey Epstein’s files, while Trump fired back with comments about possible deportation. Musk went so far as to float the idea of launching an “America First” party of his own.
Given that history, Sunday’s brief but cordial exchange was a striking reversal. Whether it signals a true thaw in relations remains to be seen.
The memorial itself was a deeply emotional gathering. Trump spoke warmly of Kirk, calling him a loyal friend and praising his tireless work in building conservative grassroots movements across the country. Kirk, a driving force in Republican voter registration drives, was remembered as a fighter for the conservative cause.

Tributes also came from members of the Trump family, including Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and son-in-law Jared Kushner, as well as Vice President JD Vance. Each described Kirk as not just a political ally but a man of deep conviction.
While the focus was rightly on honoring Charlie Kirk’s legacy, the sight of Trump and Musk reconnecting — however briefly — ensured the memorial carried political weight far beyond the arena.
