The President paused before adding with a smile, “But you know what? I usually ended up going. He was special. He was a great man, and he didn’t deserve what happened to him. He didn’t deserve this, believe me.”

Attendees faced TSA-style checkpoints, no-bag rules, and strict dress codes. Earlier in the week, authorities even arrested an armed man during a security sweep near the stadium.
