A tragic discovery in Harvard, Illinois, on October 6 led to the deaths of Rachel and Brandon Dumovich, a young couple from Sharon, Wisconsin. Police found them inside a car with its hazard lights flashing just before midnight. The victims were identified as 29-year-old Rachel Noel Dumovich and 30-year-old Brandon Peter Dumovich. Rachel and Brandon’s story began years earlier—they met in middle school and reconnected as adults, beginning a relationship in 2022. They married on October 12, 2024, after Brandon proposed at Big Cedar Lake, a location meaningful to Rachel’s family. The couple shared a love of travel, nature, and spending time with their dogs, Dash and Cedar.
In a social media post made hours before her death, Rachel wrote, “Forever chasing sunsets. Wishing we were back in Greece,” referencing the couple’s honeymoon. Friends remembered them as deeply devoted to each other and full of energy and optimism.
Rachel’s obituary described her as compassionate, witty, and driven. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and worked as a Human Resources Manager at Climate Pros, LLC.
