Netflix Viewers Stunned By 97% Rated True-Crime Series That Many Can’t Even Finish

Netflix subscribers have been left completely stunned by a gripping true-crime mini-series that has earned nearly perfect scores from viewers and critics alike.

With thousands of shows and films in Netflix’s library, it’s not unusual for some truly powerful stories to go unnoticed at first.

But this seven-episode documentary has stood out. Many who’ve watched it are calling it nothing short of an “absolute masterpiece.”

Set in the United States, the series follows the tragic and unresolved case of a murder that rocked the city of Baltimore.

Some viewers found the content so disturbing and intense that they admitted they couldn’t even finish the show.

For those who did manage to see it through, its chilling impact lingered well beyond the final credits. The story has stayed with many for years since its original release.

The series focuses on the 1969 murder of Sister Cathy Cesnik, a well-loved nun and teacher who lived and worked in Baltimore.

She was just 26 years old when she went missing, and her body wasn’t found until two months later. The case went cold shortly after — that is, until shocking revelations came to light decades later.

In the 1990s, a woman who had attended the school—identified only as Jane Doe shared a heartbreaking story of being sexually abused by the school’s chaplain.

Even more horrifying, she claimed that someone had shown her Sister Cathy’s lifeless body as a way to keep her quiet.

Her account, along with those from other survivors and witnesses, uncovered a disturbing pattern of abuse and silence within the system.

Yet, despite all the testimonies and evidence that came forward, no one has ever been charged in connection with the case.

Outside of Baltimore, the case didn’t get much attention for years. But the Netflix series brings it back into focus through emotional interviews with survivors, reporters, and others who have spent decades pushing for justice and answers.

The show, titled The Keepers, goes deep into the alleged cover-up and conspiracy that may have protected those involved.

On Reddit, one viewer started a thread asking for recommendations for a show that would leave them completely stunned and speechless.

“I need to feel something.” they shared. “I wanna watch something that’s going to have me floored multiple times throughout watching.”

“I’m talking jaw dropping, unexpected and applause worthy.”

Some of the responses included newer crime thrillers like Dept Q and Netflix’s popular sci-fi series Dark, but one title kept coming up again and again.

Many users pointed to The Keepers as the most unforgettable pick. One viewer explained: “As a true crime junkie I consider it an absolute masterpiece. It’s brutal but so well-done.”

Another chimed in with: “I consume a lot of true crime and I couldn’t make it through The Keepers.”

And someone else wrote: “Very few documentaries – if any at all except this one – absolutely floor me.”

“This one literally shocked me to my core. This is a documentary that you must watch.”

One more person confessed: “This one lives rent free in my head. It shook me to the core.” while someone else added that it was the first documentary that actually gave them a “jump scare.”

The docuseries hasn’t just earned praise on social media. It has also received an outstanding 97 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes from 31 professional reviews.

Audience scores are just as strong, with over 250 users giving it an average rating of 93 percent.

One viewer summed it up perfectly: “Since its release in 2017, The Keepers has been a top 5 documentary in my book. Brilliantly told with excellent production quality.”

Another viewer agreed wholeheartedly: “One of the most spine-chilling docuseries to have come out in the recent times, and an emotional one at that.”

All seven episodes of The Keepers are currently available to stream on Netflix, for those who are ready to dive into its deeply emotional and haunting story.
