Jimmy Kimmel Addresses Trump’s Remarks Regarding Rob Reiner

Tensions erupted again between Jimmy Kimmel and Donald Trump following the tragic deaths of Rob and Michele Reiner. The late Hollywood director and his wife were found dead in their Brentwood home on Sunday, December 14, and Trump’s controversial remarks about the tragedy sparked immediate backlash.

During Monday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel didn’t hold back. He criticized Trump for calling Reiner’s death the result of “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” calling the comments “hateful and vile.” Reading Trump’s Monday morning Truth Social post aloud, Kimmel highlighted the former president’s words suggesting that Reiner’s anger toward Trump somehow contributed to his passing.

“It’s so hateful,” Kimmel said. “When I first saw it, I thought it was fake. But nothing is ever too much for him.” He added pointedly, “That corroded brain is in charge of our lives.”

Trump doubled down during a press briefing, repeating his claim that Reiner was “deranged” and critical of him, linking the director to false Russia allegations. Kimmel fired back, urging viewers to “keep pointing out the loathsome atrocities” and emphasizing Reiner would have wanted people to hold Trump accountable.

Other late-night hosts, like Stephen Colbert, took a more solemn approach, acknowledging Reiner’s death alongside other tragic events without diving into political attacks.

The Reiner family tragedy stems from a family dispute. Sources told TMZ that Rob, Michele, and their son Nick argued loudly at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party Saturday night. The following day, the couple was discovered dead in their Brentwood home, reportedly from stab wounds. Rob was 78, Michele 68.

Their son, Nick Reiner, 32, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held without bail. Authorities continue investigating the heartbreaking case.
