Her husband was declared dead, but… Watch part 2 for free
Her husband was declared dead, but…
Sarah forced herself to keep walking normally.
She could feel people watching her.
Her husband’s brother, Ryan, called after her.
“Sarah? Where are you going?”
She turned around.
“I just need some air.”
Ryan stared at the phone in her hand.
“Who were you talking to?”
Sarah’s heart started pounding.
“My mother.”
Ryan smiled.
But something about his expression suddenly terrified her.
“I’ll come with you.”
Sarah immediately answered:
“No. Please. I need to be alone.”
She walked toward the parking lot.
The second she reached her car, she locked the doors and called the number again.
Daniel answered immediately.
“Are you alone?”
“YES! Daniel, what the hell is happening?!”
Daniel took a breath.
“Three nights ago, I discovered something I wasn’t supposed to see.”
Daniel explained that his brother Ryan had been secretly moving money from their family company for years.
Millions of dollars.
But Daniel had discovered something even worse.
The money wasn’t simply being stolen.
Ryan was using the company to move money for dangerous people.
Daniel had copied everything onto a small drive.
When Ryan discovered what he’d done, Daniel knew his life was in danger.
“Then why does everyone think you’re dead?”
Daniel went silent.
Sarah heard him breathing.
Finally, he said:
“Because Ryan needed everyone to believe I was inside that coffin.”
Sarah looked through her windshield.
The funeral was still happening in the distance.
The coffin was right there.
“Daniel…”
Her voice started shaking.
“Then who’s inside?”
Silence.
Daniel finally answered:
“I don’t know.”
Sarah covered her mouth.
Then she noticed something.
Ryan wasn’t standing beside the coffin anymore.
She looked around.
He was walking toward the parking lot.
Toward her.
“Daniel… Ryan is coming.”
Daniel immediately said:
“DRIVE.”
Sarah started the car.
Ryan suddenly began running.
“SARAH!”
She slammed the accelerator and drove away.
Daniel gave her an address.
“There’s an old motel outside town. Room 17. Come alone.”
Twenty minutes later, Sarah arrived.
She knocked.
The door opened.
Daniel stood there.
Alive.
Sarah couldn’t move.
Then she slapped him.
Hard.
And immediately hugged him.
She started crying against his chest.
“I BURIED YOU!”
Daniel held her.
“I’m sorry.”
Sarah pushed him away.
“Who is inside that coffin?”
Daniel looked down.
“That’s what I need to find out.”
Then Sarah remembered something.
“They haven’t buried it yet.”
Daniel looked at her.
They both had the same thought.
Sarah whispered:
“We need to open it.”
Daniel grabbed her arm.
“No.”
“Daniel, somebody’s family might think that person is still alive!”
Daniel knew she was right.
They waited until night.
Then they returned to the cemetery.
The funeral was over.
Everyone was gone.
But the coffin hadn’t been buried yet because the burial was scheduled for the following morning.
Daniel stayed hidden while Sarah approached it.
She grabbed the lid.
Daniel whispered:
“Sarah… wait.”
She opened it.
Both of them froze.
There was a man inside.
But Sarah had never seen him before.
Daniel leaned closer.
Then his face changed.
“Oh my God…”
Sarah whispered:
“You know him?”
Daniel nodded.
“He worked for Ryan.”
Suddenly—
A voice came from behind them.
“You really should’ve listened to the message.”
They turned around.
Ryan was standing several feet away.
Sarah froze.
Ryan looked at Daniel.
“You were supposed to disappear.”
Daniel stepped in front of Sarah.
“It’s over, Ryan. I copied everything.”
Ryan smiled.
“I know.”
Daniel’s expression changed.
Ryan continued:
“Why do you think I let Sarah drive straight to you?”
Sarah slowly looked at her phone.
Then she understood.
Ryan had been tracking her.
Daniel grabbed Sarah’s hand.
But Ryan didn’t move toward them.
Instead, he said:
“Ask Daniel what was on that drive before you decide which brother you trust.”
Sarah looked at Daniel.
“What does he mean?”
Daniel stayed silent.
“Daniel?”
Ryan laughed quietly.
“She doesn’t know?”
Sarah stepped away from her husband.
“Know WHAT?”
Ryan looked directly at her.
“The money wasn’t mine, Sarah.”
Silence.
Then Ryan pointed at Daniel.
“It was his.”
Sarah slowly turned toward her husband.
Daniel couldn’t look her in the eyes.
And suddenly Sarah understood something far more terrifying than finding her supposedly dead husband alive.
Daniel hadn’t disappeared because someone wanted to kill him.
Daniel had disappeared because he didn’t want to get caught.
