JUST IN: Greenland demands NATO’s protection following President Donald Trump’s comments that he plans on acquiring the territory one way or another.
The statement was released by Greenland’s prime minister’s office.
“The United States has once again reiterated its desire to take over Greenland,” the statement said.
“This is something the government coalition in Greenland cannot accept under any circumstances.”
“Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark. As a part of the Realm, Greenland is a member of NATO, and the defense of Greenland must therefore be ensured through NATO.”
Trump recently stated that Greenland would be acquired the “easy way” or the “hard way.”
“I would like to make a deal the easy way, but if we don’t do it the easy way, we’re going to do it the hard way. And I am a fan of Denmark.”
