Clinton Mocked After Shutting Off Comments To ‘Delusional’ LA Riot Response

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton encountered intense backlash due to a widely mocked post on X, where she referred to the anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles as ‘peaceful demonstrations’ and accused President Donald Trump of instigating ‘chaos’ in Southern California.

Critics branded the post as ‘delusional’ and charged Clinton with minimizing the violence, while also criticizing her for turning off comments on her post.

‘Comments off lol. She can’t handle the ratio. This is what Hillary Clinton calls ‘peaceful demonstrations,’” tweeted the popular conservative X account Libs of TikTok, highlighting that comments were restricted to only those accounts that Clinton follows.

This message was a reaction to Clinton’s initial and, as of Tuesday morning, sole comment regarding the Los Angeles riots. In her post, she labeled the unrest as ‘peaceful demonstrations’ and condemned President Trump for sending in the National Guard over the weekend.

‘California Governor Newsom did not request the National Guard to be deployed to his state following peaceful demonstrations. Trump sent them anyway,’ Clinton stated on X. ‘This marks the first time in 60 years that a president has made such a decision. Trump’s intention is not to ensure the safety of Californians. His aim is to create chaos, as chaos benefits Trump.’

The comment sparked considerable criticism from numerous observers, who urged the former first lady to ‘shut up’ and accused her of disabling comments on the post in reaction to the negative feedback.

‘Have you ever noticed that only leftists disable comments?’ California Republican Liberty Caucus chair John Dennis remarked in response.

As of Tuesday morning, social media users could engage with Clinton through quote tweets, but not through direct replies.

‘These are not peaceful, Hillary,’ Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna tweeted on X.

‘A public figure and a fraud like her should not be able to lock her replies, @elonmusk,’ another user commented on X, tagging X owner Elon Musk.

‘Hey @ElonMusk, can you make it…

“Hillary Clinton is, if nothing else, delusional,” remarked another individual in reaction to footage depicting a fire raging while rioters waved a Mexican flag.

Riots broke out in the predominantly Democratic city on Friday evening following the initiation of immigration raids by federal law enforcement in Los Angeles, part of President Trump’s commitment to deport undocumented immigrants who entered the nation during the Biden administration.

In reaction, local officials—including Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom—publicly denounced the raids and voiced their support for undocumented immigrants residing in the state.

What started as protests against the immigration raids swiftly escalated into violence, with rioters targeting federal law enforcement officers, some throwing rocks at them. Videos documented scenes of looting at local businesses, vehicles set on fire, and demonstrators occupying a major freeway.

On Saturday, Trump declared the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to assist in controlling the rising violence, circumventing the standard procedure that necessitates the governor’s authorization for such actions. In response, the state of California initiated a lawsuit against the Trump administration, accusing it of unlawfully attempting to “federalize the California National Guard,” although a federal judge has, for the time being, denied Newsom an emergency injunction.

As the riots persisted into Monday, the Trump administration dispatched hundreds of U.S. Marines to address the turmoil surrounding the anti-immigration protests.

“Approximately 700 Marines from the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division will seamlessly integrate with the Title 10 forces under Task Force 51 who are safeguarding federal personnel and federal property in the greater Los Angeles area,” U.S. Northern Command stated in a Monday announcement, as reported by Fox News.
