Trump’s Economy Added More Jobs Than Expected, As Unemployment Falls

The U.S. job market continues to progress steadily, notwithstanding media assertions regarding ‘increasing economic uncertainty’ and the alleged effects of President Donald Trump’s tariffs.

In June, the economy saw the addition of a stronger-than-anticipated 147,000 jobs, while the unemployment rate decreased to 4.1% from 4.2%, as per data released on Thursday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The job gains in June surpassed the forecast of 117,500 and demonstrated a significant increase from May’s total, which was adjusted upward by 5,000 jobs to 144,000. Additionally, April’s gains were revised upward by 11,000, culminating in a net increase of 158,000 jobs.

This marks a departure from the Biden administration, during which the Labor Department frequently revised job figures downward in subsequent months.

The revisions, along with the data released on Thursday, suggest that the average job growth over the last three months stands at 150,000. “Stocks opened higher following the jobs report. The Dow increased by 96 points, or 0.22%. The broader S&P 500 rose by 0.4%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq experienced a gain of 0.6%,” CNN reported.

Job Creators Network CEO Alfredo Ortiz commended Trump during an appearance on Fox Business Network on Thursday after the Labor Department disclosed its figures.

“Kudos to President Trump because this three-legged stool of his has proven to be quite effective: The trade, taxes, and deregulation combined. It’s all about Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!” he stated.

On his Truth Social page, Trump also shared a video of a Bloomberg report in which the analyst remarked on the labor figures: “This is good news; much better than expected. … In our survey, economists anticipated [the unemployment rate] to rise to 4.3 — It comes in at 4.1. Jobless claims — significantly lower than expected.”

Meanwhile, the Congress controlled by the GOP seems poised to enact significant legislation that will solidify much of Trump’s campaign agenda.

In an interview on Fox News with Sean Hannity on Wednesday evening, House Speaker Mike Johnson discussed the Republicans’ intentions to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill and present Trump’s complete agenda to the American populace.

“85 to 90% of this bill is the product generated by the House. The Senate made some adjustments to it, making it more conservative in certain areas while moderating it slightly in others. However, as the President articulated so effectively today, this is no longer merely a House bill or a Senate bill; it is the bill of the hardworking American people,” Johnson stated.

“We are committed to delivering it, as you mentioned, Sean, by July 4th. This is of utmost importance. Remember, we received a clear mandate from the people in November to accomplish this. President Trump campaigned on a distinct set of priorities and promises, and we did as well. This is the means to fulfill that. We are nearing the finish line,” Johnson added.

“We are at the one-yard line in this game that has been ongoing for over a year. We have been working on this for approximately 14 months to reach this stage. We are going to push it right up the middle and score for the American people. I assure you, everyone will benefit from this bill, Sean. As you pointed out, it encompasses all those features; it is the most conservative piece of legislation we have ever worked on. It is important to mention that while we are implementing historic tax cuts, we are also achieving historic savings. We are set to save $1.6 trillion for the American people,” he continued.

“We will reduce the size and scope of government, enhance its efficiency, and ensure it serves the people better. They demand and deserve that, and the Republicans are making it happen,” Johnson declared.

He further stated, “However, when discussing Medicaid, we must ensure that the program is sustained for the individuals it serves.
