Bruising Appears On Trump’s Hand Ahead Of Pittsburgh Visit

While President Donald Trump was conversing with the media prior to his scheduled visit to Pittsburgh for an economic summit, C-SPAN cameras captured what appeared to be a bruise on the president’s right hand.

The White House has previously explained the bruising on the president’s hand as resulting from various factors, including vigorous handshakes.

The incident was recorded when the president answered a question regarding the ongoing situation in Ukraine. At one moment, Trump lifted his right hand to show what seemed to be a white, bruise-like mark. The bruise seemed minor, as the president did not mention it and proceeded with his planned engagements as scheduled.

Although the mark led to speculation on social media, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and President Trump himself have previously attributed the bruises to vigorous handshakes, golf, and the president’s demanding workweek.

“President Trump is a man of the people, and he interacts with more Americans and shakes their hands daily than any other President in history,” Leavitt stated to Fox News in June after Trump’s hand appeared bruised following a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.

“His dedication is steadfast, and he demonstrates that every single day,” she added.

In his “Person of the Year” interview with Time magazine last year, Trump remarked that bruising on his hand had become commonplace since he shakes hands with “thousands” of individuals every day. Bruising tends to become more common with age, which seems to corroborate what Trump, 79, conveyed to the publication.

According to the Mayo Clinic, older adults experience bruising more often because their skin becomes thinner and less elastic, losing some of its protective lipid layer.

This condition renders blood vessels weaker and more prone to injury from minor impacts. Furthermore, capillaries deteriorate with age, and certain medications, such as blood thinners or corticosteroids, can worsen bruising.

A recent national poll indicates that a majority of Democrats are unhappy with the performance of their party’s lawmakers in Congress.

As per a Quinnipiac University survey published on Wednesday, 53% of Democratic participants disapproved of the job performance of congressional Democrats, while only 41% expressed approval.

Among all voters surveyed from June 5 to June 8, merely 21% approved of the manner in which Democrats in Congress are fulfilling their responsibilities, with 70% expressing disapproval.

This 21% approval rating aligns with the figure from Quinnipiac’s February national poll, marking “an all-time low since Quinnipiac University first posed this question to registered voters in March 2009.”

Conversely, the survey reveals that 79% of Republican voters approve of the performance of congressional Republicans, while 13% disapprove, as reported by Fox News, referencing the survey’s findings.

Among the entire voter population, 32% approved of the job performance of congressional Republicans, while just over 60% expressed disapproval.

Overall approval for Republicans in Congress has decreased by eight points since Quinnipiac’s February poll, with disapproval increasing by nine points during the same timeframe.

The Democratic Party has been experiencing political turmoil since the November elections, when Republicans regained control of the White House and the Senate while maintaining their slim majority in the House. Compounding the setback, Republicans have made gains with significant Democratic demographics, including black, Hispanic, and younger voters.

Since President Donald Trump’s return to office earlier this year, a more energized Democratic base has been urging party leaders to adopt a more assertive approach against the president’s extensive and contentious agenda during the initial months of his second term. Frustration is directed not only at Republicans but also at fellow Democrats perceived as too passive in their opposition.

This increasing discontent has led to a significant drop in the favorability ratings of the Democratic Party, which have hit unprecedented lows in various polls conducted over the last few months.
