Elon Musk slams Trump over ‘nobody cares about Epstein’ claim: ‘Just release the files as promised’
WASHINGTON, DC: Elon Musk has escalated his public criticisms of President Donald Trump and the Department of Justice regarding their management of the Jeffrey Epstein case, insisting on the release of long-awaited documents and accusing officials of misleading the public.
The conflict, which began earlier this summer, reached a new peak on July 7, when the tech entrepreneur openly ridiculed Attorney General Pam Bondi and questioned the authenticity of newly released security footage from Epstein’s jail cell.
Musk, who has recently introduced his own political platform, the “America Party,” has made transparency concerning Epstein a fundamental promise of his campaign. His increasingly aggressive rhetoric indicates a widening rift among former MAGA allies, as Musk depicts Trump as being involved in a cover-up.
Elon Musk criticizes Donald Trump’s deflection regarding Jeffrey Epstein.
In response to a July 12 post on Truth Social where Donald Trump defended Pam Bondi and dismissed the renewed public interest in the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, Elon Musk called for accountability.
“Seriously. He mentioned ‘Epstein’ multiple times while urging everyone to stop discussing Epstein. Just release the documents as promised,” Musk stated on X (formerly Twitter).
In the extensive Truth Social post, which exceeded 400 words, Trump asserted that the Epstein matter no longer deserved public attention or effort.
The president remarked, “What’s happening with my ‘boys’ and, in some instances, ‘gals?’ They’re all targeting Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing an EXCELLENT JOB! We’re all on the same Team, MAGA, and I disapprove of what’s occurring.”
In a strange twist, Trump even alleged that the “files were authored by Obama, Crooked Hillary, Comey, Brennan, and the Losers and Criminals of the Biden Administration.”

In a subsequent post, Musk accused Bondi and the DOJ of concealing the truth about Epstein’s associations.
Following the DOJ and FBI’s release of a memo asserting that there is ‘no incriminating client list,’ Musk shared a meme depicting a man applying clown makeup, with captions that deride the official story.
The meme stated, ‘First panel: ‘We will release the Epstein list.’ Second panel: ‘We just need more time.’ Third panel: ‘The Epstein list is on my desk.’ Final panel (fully made-up clown): ‘There is no Epstein list.’
In another post, the billionaire entrepreneur remarked, ‘What’s the time? Oh look, it’s no-one-has-been-arrested-o’clock again.’
Recently, the DOJ made public security footage from Epstein’s jail cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York, where he was found deceased in 2019. This video was intended to refute persistent conspiracy theories surrounding Epstein’s death.
However, Musk expressed skepticism regarding its authenticity. ‘AI video generation is advancing at the speed of light,’ he posted, suggesting that the footage might have been fabricated.
In February, Bondi stated that the Epstein client list was ‘sitting on my desk right now to review.’ The DOJ now asserts that no such list exists, prompting Musk to contend that the public has been misled.
Elon Musk’s campaign regarding Epstein has exacerbated the divide with the MAGA base.
Musk’s recent criticisms have deepened the rift between him and Donald Trump’s MAGA supporters. Earlier, in June, Musk alleged, without providing evidence, that Trump’s name was included in documents related to Epstein.
‘It’s time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!’ Musk had stated. This post was later removed but ignited outrage among Trump’s supporters.
Now, with the DOJ announcing that the Epstein investigation is effectively concluded and no new arrests forthcoming, frustration is escalating.
Up to this point, the sole individual who has been held responsible in this matter is Ghislaine Maxwell, a long-time associate of Epstein.
