JUST IN: New Declassified Documents Expose FBI’s Clinton Email Cover-Up

A U.S. Justice Department watchdog determined on Monday that the FBI did not conduct a comprehensive investigation into Hillary Clinton’s missing emails during the 2016 election, undermining the former secretary of state’s assertion of being exonerated.

Approximately 30,000 missing emails from Clinton’s State Department email account became a contentious issue in her campaign against President Donald Trump, who claimed that she intentionally deleted them to conceal some form of misconduct.

In a recent report, the DOJ’s Office of the Inspector General indicates that the FBI acquired thumb drives from a source during the Clinton investigation but neglected to examine their contents, as stated by U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA).

“[T]hen-FBI Director James Comey, along with then-Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, former FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok, and others, did not conduct further, targeted searches of the drives, despite the fact that they contained information pertinent to the inquiry,” Grassley remarked in a statement.

“I cautioned years ago that the Clinton investigation did not meet the necessary standards, and I am thankful that the American public can finally access the facts themselves,” he added. “After nearly a decade in obscurity, this information is now being revealed thanks to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel’s committed efforts to address my congressional request. I value their ongoing dedication to transparency and strongly encourage them to continue a thorough review of this issue, including its implications for national security.”

The thumb drives provided to the FBI were ultimately never examined, as the annex discloses, which is in contrast to recommendations made in an FBI memo at the time. The OIG concluded that the drives should have been promptly opened to investigate potential influence from foreign adversaries, but this was not done.

Another significant revelation from the OIG includes evidence of a conversation involving Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), who was the head of the Democratic National Committee at that time, along with two representatives from the Soros Open Society Foundations. As part of its inquiry, the FBI reportedly found the three discussing strategies employed by the Clinton campaign to undermine the investigation and safeguard her candidacy.

“The DOJ OIG Clinton annex indicates that Comey, McCabe, and Strzok, among others, did not undertake serious investigative measures to ascertain the truthfulness, or lack thereof, of the intelligence reports,” states Grassley’s office.

Comey cleared Clinton of wrongdoing in July 2016, providing a crucial advantage to the Democratic candidate as she faced challenges in explaining the circumstances surrounding her missing emails, their contents, and the reasons for conducting official business through her personal email account at times. Grassley has previously asserted that Comey declared Clinton innocent even prior to interviewing her.

Later that same month, Comey initiated “Crossfire Hurricane,” a collaborative investigation by the FBI and CIA into claims that President Trump was colluding with Russian entities to sway the election. The former FBI director is currently under scrutiny regarding his actions during that period, including whether he continued with “Crossfire Hurricane” despite being aware that Russia had a limited capacity to affect the election and no ties to Trump’s circle.
