According to Corriere Fiorentino, a security guard has confessed to murdering Ms. Paun, who is believed to have been working as an escort at the time.

Reports suggest the killing occurred after Ms. Paun allegedly threatened to expose the man to his wife unless he paid her.

Authorities have identified the suspect as Vasile Frumuzache, a 32-year-old Romanian national and father of two. He is facing charges of murder and concealment of a corpse.

Prosecutors say Frumuzache met Ms. Paun through a dating app and arranged to meet her at a hotel the same evening she was killed. During questioning, he reportedly admitted they had sex, after which Ms. Paun allegedly demanded £8,463 to keep silent about the encounter.
