Controversial Influencer Ash Trevino Arrested on Felony Warrants, Police Say
The creator was arrested in connection with outstanding warrants on the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 17, by the Venus Police Department, authorities told PEOPLE
Ash Trevino, a controversial content creator, was arrested on felony charges in Texas on Wednesday, Dec. 17. She was booked into Ellis County Jail, where she was later released on bond.
The 36-year-old internet personality — whose full name is Ashley Lopez-Trevino — has over 500,000 followers across her Instagram and Snapchat accounts and has frequently drawn controversy online, including for discussing in explicit detail her preference to date inmates.
A patrol officer for the Venus Police Department, who was aware that Lopez-Trevino had “active felony warrants out of the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office,” made contact with the creator in her front yard at 7:50 p.m. on Dec. 17, police chief James Groom wrote to PEOPLE in a statement.
After she was taken into custody “without incident,” Lopez-Trevino was transported to Ellis County Jail for booking on her warrants, Groom continued.

A spokesperson for the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to PEOPLE that jail records show Lopez-Trevino bonded out of jail, and that the bond was $15,000. The office declined to share further information since she had already been released from custody. PEOPLE has not been able to confirm the nature of the arrest warrants or whether formal charges have been brought.
In a video Lopez-Trevino shared to her Snapchat story on Thursday, Dec. 18, she appeared to be laughing as she exited the jail, while a person behind the camera said, “She’s free. She’s out.”
In a livestream after her release — screen recordings of which circulated online — Lopez-Trevino told her followers that she had an attorney and had plans to travel to a casino later that day.
