Right Up Until Plane Crash, Greg Biffle and Wife Shared Sweet Glimpses of Family Life as He Gave Away Money for ‘Biffmas’
Former NASCAR champion Greg Biffle and his wife often opened up their lives to fans through social media — sharing glimpses of their family’s day to day even until just hours before they died in a fiery plane crash in North Carolina.
On Thursday, Dec. 18, Biffle’s wife, Cristina Grossu Biffle, was posting on Instagram — including a meme about success inspired by Martha Stewart.
Earlier this month, she shared a loved-up couple’s photo with Greg and, last month, a shot of her snuggling her 5-year-old son, Ryder. Or, as she put it in her caption, simply: “My ❤️.”
Since news of their deaths — along with daughter Emma, 14 — was confirmed on Thursday, after their small plane crashed in Statesville that morning, fans have begun to fill their social media with condolences.
Cristina herself had reflected on seizing the future as it came.

“Life’s too short to spend it stuck in a cycle you don’t love,” she posted on Instagram in September. “We only get one shot at this, and every sunrise is a reminder that the time is now. … Passion isn’t something you stumble across; it’s something you choose to pursue with courage and persistence.”
“At the end of the day, your time, energy, and love are your greatest currency. Spend them wisely,” she wrote then. “Prioritize moments with people who matter. Create memories that make your soul smile.”
In recent days, when he wasn’t posting about his continued love of racing, Greg was promoting his “Biffmas” daily holiday giveaway of cash and other prizes as well as posting sweet clips from his life as a husband and dad: date night with Cristina, playing badminton with his son, even showing off one of Ryder’s toy excavators.

Last week, Greg posted a day-in-the-life blog on his YouTube channel of a recent trip with Cristina to Indianapolis.
“Saw a lot of friends, racers, colleagues from the racing industry,” he said. “It was good to catch up with everyone.”
Then he signed off with a promise to his followers: “We got some good stuff coming.”
